A Bit About Me

Lisa Rogers MBACP

Hi there, I'm Lisa Rogers a qualified friendly counsellor who people find easy to approach.

I make sure you feel relaxed and we will work at your own pace, allowing you to explore what's going on for yourself and I will be here helping you through that process.

I've helped my clients break through the obstacles that seem to be holding them back in life and helped them manage the difficulties they are going through, being there to listen and support them at stressful times.

By being a counsellor you can rely on and feel safe with, I can help you start to look at the difficulties that are filling your head and start to help you make more sense of them.

My first experience as a counsellor was at a large Kent College where I trained on placement and then once qualified went on to continue at the college volunteering for a further 2 years.  I thoroughly enjoyed being part of this organisation and helping the students manage the things in their lives that were causing them upset and trouble.

I believe that people who have space to speak and explore their difficulties have a better chance of understanding and learning about who they are, which can help with the changes they may want to make.

I work with many different clients and work particularly well with adolescents, building relationships and helping them overcome the stresses of everyday life.  I'm overwhelmed at how responsive the students are and how hard they work to gain an understanding of themselves.

I've worked within the education sector for 16 years guiding and supporting parents with their admission and appeals process.  I've enjoyed the interaction with people and have empathised with them when they have been feeling apprehensive and overwhelmed with the system which can seem a bit daunting to some at times and I feel happy that I've been able to help many parents/carers with this process, building good relationships with them.

How can I help you?

I understand it can be a big step contacting a counsellor, you might feel anxious or apprehensive about it.  I will work with you to gain a good therapeutic relationship where I will try to make you feel as relaxed as you can be.
This could be the first step to gaining a better understanding of who you are.

Life can have us feeling unhappy, unsure, or unfulfilled and sometimes we can feel trapped.  By talking to someone who is totally here for you, I can help you learn and develop better ways to handle the issues that are standing in the way and defining you and your future.

Anything can trigger us, from a new job, change in our relationships, moving home or maybe it is something you're unaware of.  Unexpected things create situations that we have no or little control over and this can escalate with the other pressures of everyday life.

I would like you to leave feeling comfortable and confident that I will hold your most difficult and personal moments until you return.  I am here to offer you all you need to explore yourself and reach whatever goal you wish to.

Counselling is time for you and I want you to feel comfortable, safe and trusting of me.

If you would like further information or a chat about starting counselling, please contact me on 07938 718837 or email me on lisa@counselling-care.com.
Thank you and I look forward to speaking to you.
